PA Comrade Richard Ijiebor is a name synonymous with leadership, craftsmanship, and dedication in the welding industry. As the visionary founder of the Edo State Welders Association (ESWA), he laid the foundation for what has become a thriving organisation that serves as the voice and backbone of welders throughout Edo State.
Born with a passion for metalwork and a desire to uplift the welding profession, PA Comrade Richard Ijiebor recognised early on the need for welders to come together under one umbrella to foster unity, growth, and advocacy. His leadership led to the establishment of ESWA in 1984, and under his guidance, the association was officially registered in 1986. His foresight and determination have been instrumental in shaping the association’s mission to promote skills development, protect the rights of welders, and advance the industry.
Comrade Ijiebor’s contributions extend beyond the realm of welding. He was not only a master of his craft but also a committed advocate for the welfare of his fellow welders. His strong sense of community and his unwavering commitment to justice earned him the title of “Comrade,” as he stood at the forefront of various initiatives that ensured welders received fair treatment, proper training, and access to opportunities for economic empowerment.
Under his leadership, ESWA grew from a small collective of craftsmen into a formidable body that has played a key role in the industrial development of Edo State. PA Ijiebor’s legacy is one of mentorship, innovation, and service. His work has inspired generations of welders to take pride in their craft and to strive for excellence in every project they undertake.
Today, the Edo State Welders Association continues to embody the principles of hard work, unity, and professional growth that PA Comrade Richard Ijiebor championed. His vision lives on in the association’s ongoing efforts to uplift the welding profession and contribute to the economic progress of Edo State and Nigeria as a whole.
